Sports Updates (information provided by the International Student Union)
Free Sports Equipment
The Thai Student Union is offering to let Payap students borrow sports equipment for free. The sports equipment includes footballs, basketballs, badmintons, and volleyballs. To borrow the equipment go to the Thai Student Union Office (located by the ping-pong tables near the nurse’s office) and show them your student ID.
Sports Equipment Donation
As the IC tries to build up its sports program, it will be greatly appreciated if IC students donate extra sports equipment that you may have. Basketballs, volleyballs, footballs, badminton rackets, nets, rugby balls, or any other equipment you may have will be accepted. To donate, contact Sports Reps. Jeff or Lenny (086-915-0492). Inform them of what you will be donating and the amount.
Rugby and Softball
Rugby and Softball practice are currently being played daily at the main football field at 5:30 on weekdays. Equipment (gloves, bats, helmets) are made available to softball players and both guys and girls are encouraged to participate. Games are played against Chiang Mai University and various other teams around Chiang Mai.
Basketball
This October Payap University will be participating in a tournament in Bangkok, sign-up sheets are already posted on the ISU bulletin board. All basketball players are encouraged to sign-up and tryout for the join Thai/IC basketball team. The dates for the tryouts and practices are pending but will be posted as soon as possible.
