- Are scholarships available?
In general, applicants are expected to be self-reliant. There may be help for those in need.
- Can I work in Thailand?
Non-Thai citizens on student or non-immigrant visas are not permitted-to work here.
- What is the cost of living in Chiang Mai?
Furnished rooms without kitchens can be found starting at US$100 per month, (3,000 Thai baht) at current exchange rates. Furnished apartments or condos are likely to start at approximately US$300 (7,000 Thai baht) and can climb to US$1,000 or 25,000 Thai baht per month. Expect additional charges for internet service, electricity, water and air conditioning.
- Is there reliable and affordable public transportation to and from campus?
There is no subway or bus system servicing the city. Purchasing a bike or motorbike is an option. There is an abundance of red taxi/trucks you can hire at negotiated prices on shared rides. Private taxis are more expensive.
- What is the cost of food?
There are two sizeable canteens, one on either end of campus. Traditional Thai meals are served at one at lunchtime five days a week. The other offers Thai meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Meals average about 35 baht or US$1.40.
There also two 7-11 shops and two coffee shops on either side of the campus.
There are endless dining options off campus for an average 40 baht or US$1.60 per meal.
