Ambassador Kenney, along with numerous other dignitaries, participated in Payap’s student dormitory Dedication Ceremony during the period 10:15 – 11:00 AM. The Alpha Women’s Dormitory and Omega Men’s Dormitory are the centerpieces of the student residential community recently created on the East Mae Khao campus. The title of Dr. Ratanaporn’s research project is “Discovering the Indigenous Documents of the Dai-Lue People in Xishuangbanna, China: The Preservation of Endangered Historical and Cultural Documents.” This project aims to preserve, utilize, and hand down the historical and cultural documents of the Dai-Lue people in Xishuangbanna, in China's Yunnan Province. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) program, has awarded Payap University US$500,000 (approx. 16,500,000 Thai baht) to complete renovations to its campus for the purpose of improving handicap accessibility. This project includes creating access ramps where needed, replacing narrow entry doors with wider ones, widening restroom stalls and providing handrails, creating additional parking spaces for those with disabilities, and installing elevators for accessibility to higher floors of selected buildings. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) program, has awarded Payap University US$500,000 (or approx. 17,500,000 baht at 35:1) to construct a Pharmacology R&D Center (PRDC). This center will be a complete medical technology training and education center catering to the needs of the Payap student body, faculty, medical researchers, and the community. The funds provided by USAID/ASHA will represent nearly 50% of the total construction cost of the facility, with the remainder coming from other sources. The PRDC will be a stand-alone building which will be used for conducting pharmaceutical research and education. Upon completion of construction, Payap will begin the second phase which is the procurement of the minimum necessary equipment comprising the R&D portion, or a small scale pilot plant. ...

Payap University conducted a Grand Opening ceremony for its new Fundraising Resource Center on Tuesday, 31 March 2009. This center is part of the Foundation Center USA's network of Cooperating Collections. The Payap University Fundraising Resource Center (FRC) -the first in Thailand- is available to grantseekers at no cost. It provides access to The Foundation Directory Online, the leading grantseeking database on the web, along with a core collection of Foundation Center directories and publications. The Payap FRC also provides a wide selection of supplementary materials and services, which are most useful to grantseekers. Additionally, the FRC offers educational sessions for the public, including classes on the basics of grantseeking and dialogues with local donors.
