Instructors needed for the International College!

The Payap University International College (IC) is seeking to hire qualified, English-speaking instructors for the upcoming term. All nationalities are welcome, but proficiency in the English language is a must as instructors will be responsible for courses taught in the all-English IC programs.  Minimum requirement is a Master's Degree in the field of instruction (undergraduate programs only).  A Doctorate Degree is preferred (required for graduate programs).  Other requirements can be discussed at the time of interview.  The following are programs requiring instructors:

International Business Management (IBM) Program

Requirements for Candidates: 

  1. Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a business discipline, preferably management.
  2. At least 2 years teaching experience plus practical business experience.
  3. Fluency in the English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  4. Any nationality can apply.
  5. Willing to relocate to Chiang Mai as full-time lecturer.

 Job Tasks

  • Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students on topics such as International Trade Law, Principles of Management, Introduction to Business, Strategic Management, Seminar in International Business Management, Selected topics in International Business Management, and Business Decision Making.  
  • NOTE:  There is currently an urgent need for a qualified ACCOUNTING instructor, full-time or part-time position. 
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts for internal and external defense committees.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
  • Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences.
  • Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
  • Select and obtain materials and supplies such as textbooks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
  • Collaborate with members of the business community to improve programs, to develop new Academic Activities, and to provide student access to learning opportunities such as internships.
  • Participate in student recruitment, registration, and extra curricula activities.
  • Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
  • Participate in campus and community events.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Supervise undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, internship, and research work.
  • Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media.
  • Act as advisors to student organizations.

Master's in Business Administration (MBA) program

The Payap University International College invites qualified candidates to apply for teaching positions in its MBA graduate degree program.

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Business Administration or a related field and be capable of teaching and conducting research in several of the following disciplines:

Department of Information Technology (IT)

Full-time Instructor

The candidate should:
•    have a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in IT or related discipline
•    teach "IT Professional Courses" (see http://iit.payap.ac.th)
•    conduct research and publications
•    participate in departmental and University activities
•    contribute academic and miscellaneous administrative work

Part-time Instructor

The candidate should:
•   have a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in IT or related discipline.
•   be able to teach one or two IT/CIS Courses

MA TESOL Program

Qualifications:

  1. Degree: Ph.D or Ed.D in TESOL, TEFL, Curriculum and Instruction, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or related field.
  2. Experience: Have minimum of 5-years experience in teaching.
  3. Publication: Have publications or research published in any recognized journals or publications.
  4. Language proficiency: Have high English proficiency and be able to teach in English.  Native English speaker preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach MA (TESOL) elective and core courses.
  2. Teach Certificate Programs in support of the TESOL Department (two times per year).
  3. Supervise student Thesis and Independent Study.
  4. Develop collaborative links with educational institutions abroad, as well as local schools and universities.
  5. Conduct research, academic work, and/or publish books.
  6. Contribute to curriculum development.
  7. Participate in departmental and university activities.
  8. Contribute by way of community service and miscellaneous administrative work.
